History:
theodore is the son of two elderly wizards, one, his father who escaped any imprisonment in azkaban and later acquired a job in the department of mysteries as an unspeakable. the other, his mother who died when theodore was 12. when daniel nott worked at the ministry, he found himself surrounded by jealousy toward his 'friends' and co-workers who were already starting on developing the heirs to their families. he too tried the same but at first his wife could not produce any children (or so he thought). but being the scheming and deceitful wizard that he was, he managed to have an affair and get another woman pregnant. it was only months later that he found out his wife was pregnant, which led to the dismissal of his mistress. he fathered a son, theodore, but before that, his daughter was born. daniel, only interested in a son to pass on the family name and bring greatness to the family did not want his daughter and tried to shoo them away. eventually, his wife glacinda found out about the affair and illegitimate daughter. heartbroken but not heartless, she forced her husband to house cordie and her mother in the neighbouring house with the threat of announcing his shame. though angry and bitter, theodore's mother could not see another be hurt by daniel nott. after that she kept herself away from him.
when theodore was about six years old he met cordelia, nearly by accident. when his father seemed disgruntled (more than usual) teddy followed him as he went to the neighbours house and had a few words with cordelia's mother. he didn't enter or tried to sneak in, the girl on the tree caught his attention and after a few impolite words and some indifferent ones, they 'met'. theodore didn't really see much of cordelia after that, other than seeing her from his window or when he'd slowly walk outside and look over at her house. but during a walk to the park with his mother, things had changed. theodore avoided the play area of the park and instead began watching ants, when cordelia had walked into the same park and they exchanged words, very short words, he found himself in a small adventure with her. leaving him with more than excitement. theodore had his first dose of fun after he was pushed into a lake and once out of the lake, he had his first friend. after that encounter, theodore would sneak off and spend his leisure time with cordelia. at times in secret, once he realised that his mother didn't like cordelia. it was at that point that his mother began to ignore him...but she had her reasons. instead of forbidding him from his only friend, she remained quiet, keeping the relationship between the two young children as silent as before. eventually, theodore found the truth however and when his father tried to send away cordelia and her mother, the young boy stood up to his father. things stayed as they were, theodore seemed to grow apart from his parents though not because of his new-found friend, his parents had their own lives and theodore was not part of it; he was just there for namesake. being from a pureblood family, theodore knew that he'd be a wizard...though he was a late bloomer; only showing signs of magical ability until he was nine. although his worries began then, he looked forward to finally attending school and being away from his father.
During his first year at hogwarts, Theodore Nott was what you'd call a 'typical slytherin' because of the way he was raised. He fit in with the other slytherins and didn't really give the other houses much time, he didn't really care about them. But as the weeks passed he noticed the way the other students reacted to bullying. not really being around other children when he was younger he seemed to take not sympathy but the idea that everyone was labelled. not wanting the same, he strayed from the others and just became himself with his own thoughts. the slytherin remained the same for the rest of his years at school, only speaking to some but hardly calling anyone his friend. anyone but his half-sister cordelia. she was his best friend, confidant and still, someone who managed to annoy him; naturally he returned the favour. Hardly finding a reason to socialise, he kept to his studies for the years to come. In the summer of his second year his mother had been killed, Theodore was stunned by his father though he didn't recognise him since it had been dark. The reasons to his mother's passing were never given an explanation though Theodore suspected it was his father's doing but out of fear of the wizard, he never asked but kept himself in distance. Some part of him had changed, he felt alone a lot more and drowned his worries and thoughts in academics. He did not want sympathy so never spoke about it, his personal life remained a mystery. Not wanting to lose anyone, Theodore kept himself from noticing anyone so was delayed in having infatuations. However there was one small passion in his life, not living, but a sport. Theodore always had an interest in quidditch and read all he could about it but since his father had thought of it as pointless, he wasn't allowed to try out
During his fourth year, Theodore matured a little more and started to notice others around him, he became curious about his classmates; especially Hermione Granger and Luna Lovegood. He admired Granger's brains and witty comebacks, and he was intrigued by Lovegood's unusual way of life. He always stayed behind trees and in class he would sit in the darkest corner, never really wanting to be seen but being able to see everyone else. Theodore drew good marks in most of his subjects except for CoMC and Charms. Potions and Herbology were his best subjects.
At the end of his fourth year, Theodore like many students returned home for the summer. The summer which his father continued to tell him to detest those that were less than pure; going as far as taking Theodore along when he would wound muggles or even kill them. Always keeping a blank expression, Theodore didn't admire his father or his ways, he did not buy his explanations of why those less than pure were worthless; especially since one of his crushes was a muggle born, yet she was one of the brightest witches at school. Theodore of course never said anything, just kept quiet but his father knew he wasn't learning a thing and therefore defying him. All was kept the same until Theodore entered his fifth year, things seemed more solemn around the wizarding world after Cedric Diggory died the year before. Theodore took notice of the change but he himself didn't change so much. It wasn't until the end of the school term that he became slightly more serious. His father took part of the attack on the dept. of mysteries.
He was wounded and later jailed in Azkaban but he had escaped later on. During that time, his father had no job and only revenge on his mind. A guarding was assigned to Theodore but Daniel used the confundus charm to basically make the guardian useless and as if she wasn't even there. Being semi-free to do what he wanted, Daniel began to drill in more lectures into Theodore and shoved more knowledge of dark spells. He hardly took any of it in, well made it seem like it. Which infuriated his father to the point which he started taking Theodore along with him whenever he tortured muggles; making his son watch so he would bask into the joy of murder and torture. Theodore didn't enjoy it much though it caused him to be much more serious and forget about his crushes and being so anxious. Luckily he was too young to use magic outside of the castle so he never participated. Things kept on the same until the end of his sixth year. His father was growing sick and at an already old age, he couldn't keep up much and died while Theodore was still in school.
During a mission he had strained himself too much, the other death eaters didn't seem to care so much so they just left his dead body thrown on the gate outside the Nott Estate. Passing bodies later discovered it and reported it. After hearing what had happened, Theodore made sure to not react; eating up whatever emotions wanted to come out. He became indifferent about it though he began to dislike the death eaters for the first time but his father even more. This time it was Theodore who found his father a disappointment. He was disappointed because he had wasted his life serving someone who couldn't care less about him, to the point where his body would just be thrown into any ditch without a second thought. It was pathetic according to Theodore and it made him want to think about being a Death Eater even less. He continued school and was of age before he could set foot in an orphanage.

A whole evening's worth of polishing the pearly suits of armour in the third floor was something Theodore would have preferred instead of presently being in Care of Magical creatures class. Ever since the giant oaf Hagrid had been back, class was not as simple as it was before. Small tolerable creatures were discussed and shown when Professor Grubbly-Plank was teaching months earlier. Theodore rather enjoyed the amount of homework she gave out though the other few students groaned about it. But now, as simple and harmless as horned toads might have been to Hagrid, Theodore still found them beastly. Just by looking at them atop of a barrel, their large sharp eyes shifting every second and their tough bodies with prickly spikes shooting out of them. Theodore cringed as the lecture stayed in the background. That was until Hagrid instructed everyone to grab one of the creatures. His complexion faded into a sickly grey and he swallowed hard as he stood there, grounded to the grass while the other students marched for the horned toads. Hagrid noticed Theodore simply standing there and tried to give an encouraging smile Go on he waved him towards the barrel They're harmless, really gentle fellows once they're handled But Theodore made no movement, his expression cross as he looked at the horned toads. He shook his head once Hagrid tried to bring one closer and stepped back. "I'll just write about them and draw one...even the insides" mumbled Theodore as he avoided eye contact with the creature. Won't keep your grade warned Hagrid but Theodore only shrugged carelessly.
When class had been dismissed, the surly face remained on him as he marched away. One last glance back had given away the dissatisfaction that he was holding on so tightly. A lower mark, it hurt Theodore. When he swallowed again he felt as though a stone just slipped down his throat and landed hard on his stomach. His steps were cut short as the need for a greater mark rose. Theodore thought about going back and asking Hagrid if he could do anything but touch those horned toads. But as others moved closer, walking merrily to wherever they were settling themselves, Theodore hesitated. Having anyone see him talking to Hagrid would have bothered him. His interest in care for magical creatures was mostly secret, reading up and studying was what he liked- not the rest; 'no one will understand that' thought Theodore and sighed.
His eyes were on his shoes as he walked, sulking in the great demise of his academics. "Why can't it be like history of magic. We don't have to go digging up dead wizards to learn about them, why bother having to touch slimy monsters to know them" The complaints continued in his mind until a shivering breeze caught his face. Theodore looked up and saw in the distance someone oh too familiar. In such routine, he automatically started to walk to Cordelia until he reached her side. Instead of a 'Hello' he tapped her side with his right foot subtly. "Thinking about drawing that?" asked Theodore and quickly found it illogical as he thought water would just be a blue blob on a bit of parchment. His eyes blinked and left the darken watery view "Hagrid's going to give me a low mark again" the tone in his voice dismal as usual until he began his next scheming sentence "I might make off with one of the horned toads he had today, for a better mark" Of course, he gave little detail of his plans and scratched the side of his head; messing his dark hair.
