In Character:
Name: Blaise Zabini
Nickname: None, and he'd like to keep it that way.
Age/Year in School: 17/7th
Alliance: None; loyal to himself and, to a lesser extent, his house.
Blood Status: Pureblood
House: Slytherin
Likes: The fact that he's superior compared to most people (by blood and monetary status), Slytherins who share his ideals but aren't tools, quidditch, tests (he does well on them), the finer things in life.
Dislikes: Muggles, muggleborns, blood traitors, Gryffindors (especially the Weasley family), large crowds, Defense Against the Dark Arts (or rather the way it was taught at Hogwarts), clingy people but mostly in the romantic sense, History of Magic.
Fears: His mother's death, the money from that death going to a husband rather than him, Voldemort (the person and not the name), being caught doing something stupid like falling, being stuck in a nowhere job like Hagrid's.
Goals: To work somewhere worthwhile that will carry him to a very comfortable lifestyle, avoid getting married as long as possible, stay on the edge of the trouble brewing, graduate with as many N.E.W.Ts as he can, and avoid the status as 'one of Draco's bodyguards'.
Strengths: Can be quite charming when he wants to be, intelligent but doesn't always show just how intelligent which gives him an advantage over others, good at any class he can stay awake in, is in good physical shape and good at quidditch because of it. Doesn't often get involved in physical altercations.
Weaknesses: Although it doesn't happen often if Blaise's pride is hurt, it takes a while to recover. Stubborn in his ideals, can't bring himself to pay attention to classes that he doesn't care around. Unless he's trying not to, he tends to offend people often.
Personality:
The trait that is most evident in Blaise Zabini is his arrogance. He looks down on most people, especially muggleborns. While he doesn't deny the way that he thinks of people he is not confrontational or violent unless pushed to that point. In large part because of his arrogance he finds the muggleborns more amusing than anything, not particularly a threat. He doesn't hate half-bloods. He doesn't believe that they deserve his respect. That said, he also doesn't respect Draco Malfoy despite their friendship, and doesn't look up to the professors quite as much as other students do. He knows who he can use to make things easier for himself and feigns respect to earn things. Although he is certainly attractive enough to be a ladies' man he is often too inwardly focused to notice others. He wouldn't date just anyone anyway - the person would have to have something to offer him before even being given a chance. He actually doesn't care that much for flings as they would only complicate his life, and in his opinion make him more like his mother. As expected Blaise is materialistic. He's used to getting the very best and won't settle for less. He is stubborn in his own way, and often times if he backs down it will be because he has found a way to twist the situation to his advantage. He prefers to be alone because few people think the way that he does. Despite all their problems, Blaise would probably get pretty upset at mean comments aimed at his mother whom he both adores and despises.
Looks:
Slanting, narrow brown eyes, short black hair. He is tall and thin with some less obvious muscle tone. He is more fit than he looks however, especially since he has played quidditch casually since he was very young. He is attractive to most kinds of girls which sadly leads nowhere for them most of the time. He also has high cheek bones. He has a near-constant look of arrogance about him and will look directly in the eyes of people when speaking to them. He wears nice robes when he's at home or with his mother, black and green mostly, distinguished.
History:
Blaise Zabini never got to know the man who was presumably his father, the second of his mother's husbands. He died under suspicious circumstances only months before Blaise was born. Although his mother seemed genuinely upset about this particular death, it is still assumed by most people that she had some part in his demise. Blaise was not without a male role model, however. he had more than anyone could need, though none of them were stable or that concerned with bringing young Blaise out of his shell.
Although he did care about his mother on some level, Blaise didn't and couldn't respect her. He did stand by her through every marriage and every disaster that came their way. He doesn't ask about his father often. His mother has even confused one husband for another when speaking about them, so he doesn't believe that any information would be that reliable. He does know that his father was a pureblood and that is all that he needs to know. He has never sought out any other information about his father and doesn't seem that affected by not knowing him.
His years at Hogwarts began mostly uneventful, mostly because he kept to himself most of the time. He didn't associate with many students, including purebloods,, though that would be the only sort if he were to associate with anyone. He got quite a few O.W.Ls on his record but was pleased to drop some of the classes that he had found less than interesting. He has his group of friends that he is mostly loyal to, but if there is a prize for standing up to one of them he still will. Oh yes, and I suppose this part is rather important: regarding the Dark Lord, Blaise's view has been the same all along; he would rather not take a side and thinks that people who are satisfied with being a follower are weak.
