Lindsey walked into the common room and chose the end of the couch nearest the fire to plop down on. Swinging around she dropped her legs over the end of the couch so her knees were bent down so her feet could waggle back and forth. With her back now on the couch she pushed her skirt and robes down so as to not show too much, but her knees and upper legs were fairly bare. That was Lindsey in a nutshell, not that anyone would call her a tease; she was more likely to follow through which scared some boys. Lin would just shrug and say that 'You can't play with fire...'
With her bag on the floor, she reached down in one and pulled out a rubber ball. Bored, she began throwing it up so it got closer and closer to the glass ceiling, the murky depths of the Black Lake above, the greenish glow from both fire and lake tinging the room with a green glow. Eventually she got close enough that it started bouncing off the glass and she smiled. As she continued, hitting about the same with each bounce, fish attracted to the noise came over and began looking down at the glass hesitantly.
Classes were over for the day and she wasn't really impressed with the new dark art's teacher. Aggressive, yes. Dark, yes. Dangerous, yes. Idiot, in her opinion yes. Going to be using the three unforgivable curses? What the heck? With the huge variety of spells they had been taught and all the many ways to be able to use them, who needed the damn curses as well? Too many people watched for them and were scared of them. Stuff someone in closet and fill it with the unbreakable bubble spell. Slowly crush them, hold them unable to move. Or how about the water spell, fill their mouth faster then they could cough it up; delicious.
And not on the magic watch list. What fool would use the obvious stuff?

Walked in the the common room, with a not so happy face. Her gray eyes glanced around as she attempted to go up the stairs and go change, it was so uncomfortable in this things all day. Deep in her thoughts, her glossed lips stuck out as if she was pouting. Ariana sighed and turned to see Lindsey and a smirk came to her face, "Lindsey, if you didn't want to wear those clothes. Why don't you change? We don't have any classes left." Her voice sounded exhausted but it was a simple statement/ question. Ariana couldn't even stand the fact that she was standing so she walked over to the couch and plopped herself down, "Hello." Her voice sounded a bit cheery for that matter.
Ariana looked up after dropping her school bag on the floor. Resting her back against the couch. She watched her hit the glass repeatedly on the glass floor of the Black Lake. Her eyes glimmered with humor as she watched the fish come to the ball, nervously. Letting out a laugh she wrapped her arm around her stomach. Ariana didn't stop for a minute or two but until she called down enough to talk, she did. "Moon. You are so weird. Yet this is entertaining." Her words weren't harsh at all. Thinking to herself, What the hell. If this is my last year, I gotta have some friends, right? Her eyes still glued onto the ceiling deep in thought about the day. Even though she felt like she could sleep, she was semi awake now that she saw Lindsey do something amusing.
The thoughts went on about how she was, standing with people throughout the day. There was Blaise and Finn. But she felt the need to have a girl to speak to about well on bad days where she couldn't talk to the guys about it, she needed to talk about girl stuff too. Since she was a girl. But she rarely spoke of the girl things because she didn't like having issues to talk about, but just in case... This was 7th year in school. Nobody has those little school-girl crush anymore. It's when people start to realize that they have grown into adult hood. Except when it came to Ariana who loved being on her own, but deep down inside she hated it. She needed a person just to call her 'own' but no way in hell she would do it or say her deep want to anyone.
Taken away from her deep thoughts, Ariana put her legs on the couch and tore her eyes away from the ceiling, "Classes suck. Every Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers we get are creeps in turbines, a full ego self that's stupid, A werewolf," Ariana paused, she didn't mind the teacher that much, Remus Lupin. Only because he seemed cool with everything. She disliked him for his love for Harry Potter. A slight roll of the eyes showed her dislike, "A frod that used poly-juice potions. Who also scared the class, especially the Gryffindor with the death curses. Then a little old lady who hated magic all together. Treated us like we were two," Her eyes rolled again at the sound of the old plump lady named Dolores Umbridge. God, she hated her so much. But part of her liked her because of the way she treated the Gryffindors, but after that. Ariana acted up in class because some kid pushed her and she got a D.T. with that old hag and had her arm carved into with that retched pen. A slight tingle ran through her hand and she grabbed it unknowingly. "Then Snape was it. Now he is Head Master. But no. We have a new one now, stupid like the second one."

As she bounced the ball off the ceiling and the fish darted around, curious and startled both by it, it amused her how much they were like boys really. Tempt them just right and even if they were scared of you they would keep coming back trying to get a glimpse of what she had... Ariana came in and spoke to her coming over. "Ariana, Ariana, you have no idea how much I hate school robes. But I don't have many skirts and the hint of getting a peak under them has tempted more then one boy into getting captured." She laughed evilly, but mostly it broke into amusement; she knew Ariana didn't go hunting boys, but surely there wasn't a boy in school who hadn't watched her pass them without a thought about what Lin was like to bed. There were certainly a lot of rumors about her still. "And hello to you too. Take a load off."
She continued the bounce, using her arm muscles (which were much more exercised then most girls; she had little doubt she was one of the stronger girls in the dorm even more then the Quidditch players) to bounce it harder and harder. The spell reinforced glass was far tougher then anything she might damage so it was not to worry about. "It is isn't it? I did it one last year with a spell bubble and realized fish were so damn curious it's a good way to catch their attention. Anything out of the ordinary is a quick draw. Must be damn boring being a fish." Then instead of throwing it she stopped, holding the ball and looked at the other. It was unusual for her to come by to just...talk. Wondering what was behind that she said "You look tired. What classes do you take that I don't that wear on you like that? Or is this proof again that I have too much freaking energy?" Chuckling lightly, she turned her head back to watch the fish, emboldened by the silence who were nosing the glass more curious now that the noise had stopped.
Lindsey of course had a plan for the fish.
"Well part of it is that they look down on all of us cause we're not as old as them. But the Carrows are both touched in the head. The real shame is we're about to have to work with people like that, fools that they are." Pulling her wand out of her arm sheath she cast the bubble spell and got one single very large bubble. "Here we go," as she began tossing that one which hit much softer making a much smaller sound, the rubber ball still in her other hand. About ten times she did that and the fish gathered in close before she suddenly threw the rubber one again and in an instant all of them had fled in a huge panic which stirred up all the mud in the water. She laughed as she caught the rubber one, delighted at manipulating the stupid creatures and dropped the bubble letting it fade away.
"However, I'm afraid they are typical Death Eaters in a way. I certainly don't plan on working with nit-wits like that. I have my own plans to carry out." She sat up slightly on her elbows with a thought. "Merlin's bloody b@lls, you don't think they would make us start joining or marrying the DE do you? That's a scary thought." Even someone as smart as Snape would be bad news indeed, not that she had met many DE except the Carrows, but it was clear to her as to many students they were not the highest quality wizard and witch to judge on. They were so....focused as to turn people off the idea of joining the cause actually to Lindsey's mind.

Ariana laughed at the girl and a smirk came to her face, always trying to seduce boys. Her glance never left the ceiling until she went on about how the tempt of a peak under it made her chuckle, "There has been several incidents of that already. But I find it more you than me. Mind you, I don't like being goggled at like a toy. I make that more than clear to people who don't get it." The fish that scurried away made her laugh out loud, "So stupid." Pausing she thought of the guys who have goggled at her, turning her face towards Lindsey and she went serious, yet there was a teasing tone in her voice, "There is only one guy who is the most modest I've seen in this world. Blaise." Crinkling her nose, "Normally I would believe he was gay. But for him, he is the most hardest person to read so I'm not real sure." A smirk came to her face at the boy she met over the summer. Then in the late night, he wasn't so bad after all. But still confusing enough to talk about it with Lindsey. Relaxing her body before Lindsey, showing she would sit here anyway even if she said no.
Ariana looked back up when she started to hit the glass harder and harder with the rubber ball and a small smile appeared on her exhausted face. Just when she thought that the fish wouldn't come back she looked back towards the couch and shifted into a more comfortable position. "Very boring. I mean also disgusting. You would be swimming in your own and other peoples pee and poop. I would die, very very quickly, even though I enjoy the mud and the outdoors. Swimming and breathing in your own pee and poop, is a little bit too extreme for me. But wouldn't you be curious if you heard a plunk at your window, wouldn't you check it out at least once?" Showing her own curiosity through the last statement, "Sure in hell I would be looking out the window if someone did that to my window." Feeling the need to become part of the conversation she saw the need to engage in it too. A smirk came to her face and she rolled her eyes slightly, "I don't know. I'm just not used to having to sit and listen to many teachers preach to me about stuff." A slight groan came out at the sound of teachers preaching to the student's. About her comment on her energy she snickered, "You have a lot of energy, no doubt of that." She said cooly.
"Still. I bet a student could show them up and put them in their place sooner of later. I know I would if they angered me enough. That would not be a show you would like to watch go down. I won't cooperate with them even if they asked. I do no ones dirty work." Grimacing, Ariana put down her hands down, picking at her nails. "Thank god we are leaving at the end of this year though." Her gaze fell on the bubble and smirking as it slowly went up in the air. Laughing as she saw the fish come up in a group staring at the bubble bouncing lightly against the glass. Then a huge clunk against it made her jump slightly, not really ready for the noise but it happened and the fish brewed up the muddy ground and swam away. That made her burst out into a long fit of laughter.
"Just followers with no life." She muttered the side of her nose twitched for a second before she went completely relaxed nodding with what she said about her own plans, "I love my own plans. Becoming a stupid worthless follower would not be one of them." Ariana looked at the red-headed girl and opened her mouth, letting what raced through her mind come out, "If that does happen.. If we get married to a Death Eater for no apparent reason. I would be more than furious. They would have to put up with me for a long time before they even expect me to join." Her gaze fell on the fireplace and she slightly shivered. What if they were forced into it and wouldn't take no for an answer.

Lindsey listened as she played, tempting and spooking the fish. Ariana was not like all the girls in the dorm who were always talking about romances and which boy was a better catch. The two of them stood out on the extremes of the dorm as far as romance went. Ariana watched but didn't tempt. Some girls watched and did nothing, others flirted a bit, and some of them went after a couple of boys. Lindsey attempted to tempt all of them into falling into a trap from which she could get service out of, maybe some day the proper guy for a marriage. Properly trained of course if possible. Quite a few people understood the danger in her, but guys were still tempted by the view and challenge both. "Even in our dorm, I know. Boys are pretty easy to predict usually. It's fun."
"Oh Blaise! Yeah he's different. We've been friends for awhile and I swear I think he would be happy locked in a tower with some books and no company." She gave Ariana a calculating eye after she said that, wondering if Ariana was ready to hear her news from the summer about Blaise. She might have some insight the other girl would find interesting. Lin debated it while Ariana responded about classes and such and professors yakking. Lindsey certainly didn't care for being lectured to, but the classes near the end were really intriguing and the closest to discovering new magic you could get. Take her Animagus discussion in Transfiguration; Most of the students would not be attempting it, but Lindsey certainly would registration or not. The ability to get in and out of places different from the ordinary would be so handy it far outweighed the minuses of being known for doing it.
"I agree. No way no how I'm letting them get a foothold on me. A follower I will never be." A glance at Ariana before she said anything else told her that the offer would probably not ever be taken up, but she wouldn't mind probably if it did. "Look, if things go bad here and the school is like falling apart, stick with me. I've got a place to hide out that is roomy enough for several people. Good spot to stay out of sight when things are going down." Ariana was enough of the same mind set Lin wouldn't have an issue having her in her house and it was simple enough for her to get in contact with her family after that. She wouldn't be inviting even a quarter of the dorm along though; most she didn't think had the same opinions she had anyway, but Ariana was a decent sort.
"Tell me, what do you think about Blaise? Beyond the gay or not concept. I might have an insight on him that you would like to hear... But tell me what you think of him first..."

Ariana listened to the silence which was much easier to cooperate with when she was with someone else and she went back to playing with her finger nails, which were panted a dark green. Her gaze was ever so slightly shifted to her knees waiting for Lindsey to answer her. Part of her fought the moment she had with her over the summer. A slight smirk came on her face when they talked about the man who lived there and why she was out so late in the forest. But the other part of her made Ariana to see why Lindsey thought teasing and tempting boys was so fun. Thinking better of it, she didn't dare open her mouth about it. When her thoughts got the best of her she blanked, her face went bland and into a deep thinking look, what would it feel like to be goggled at though? Even a kiss would be something Ariana was willing to do, but she was far too distant and out of tack with guys she probably wouldn't get one until marriage. Or maybe even not at all, since seeing that she had such high standards. Being only slightly pulled out of her own thoughts, she answered a bit later after being quiet. "Oh.. I know. But it is annoying at points. I swear some of these people don't get the word no." She muttered, sounding a bit out of it for a long moment.
The thoughts moved away from her head and she shook her head slightly, forcing back a disgusted noise, "Really? I could see that from the beginning. But when we talked..." She paused and made a smug look on her face, "It was late. But he seemed talkative enough for me to be around, even the book he was holding before he put it down look interesting. So I don't know..." Ariana turned her head back to Lin, and sighing just a little bit when the conversation changed. Seeing that that part of the conversation was over she smiled just a bit, somethings were just best to shut up about though, seeing that she really didn't enjoy the conversation bit about it. It made her feel awkward inside for talking to someone she really just met over the summer.
"Followers never go far in life..." Muttering a small short sentence just to fill in the space. After she was told that she had a place to go if that did happen. Made Ariana feel good about herself, only because she has gotten on with a rough start with both of them, but Lin was easier to get along with because A.) they are both girls. And B) Because they had the same views. "Thanks I guess?" Her voice sounded confident in her words but the next part came out confident too, "I don't think I'll need it seeing that I could take care of myself. But then I have a place to go if all else fails." Maybe sitting down and talking with Lindsey wasn't such a bad thing after all. Her eyes suddenly went dull. It wasn't exactly gossip. But it could still count on her way of judgment.
Opening her mouth to talk. Ariana paused and closed it thinking to herself about what she did think of him. Slumping her shoulders, thinking of the right way to put it. They did get off in a really rough spot though, enough to basically break a relationship from ever starting again, but they were...friends? Opening her mouth to speak once again, except her words weren't as strong or as bold as she thought they would be in her head, "Since only really talking to him once over the summer. Then once in Hogwarts I don't have much of a high opinion yet, but yet again we got off on the wrong foot. Which was me, having emotions pouring out everywhere," Pausing she looked back up at Lindsey, "He seemed to have a loner kind of prospective. He holds himself high on social status. But aside from that... he seemed more able to joke about things with me. Modest. Talkative in a loner sort of way...I don't know." She shrugged laying back in the couch, "Nice enough for me to like him as a friend, despite what went down over the summer. He complemented me several times without really meaning too." That was probably normal to hear him say it to her so she just added it with a simple shrug, "What do you mean Insight?"

Lindsey nodded as she spoke, agreeing without words. Boys often did not know how to say no, especially when she was working on over. Funny enough, Lindsey in aggressive mode tended to stop most boy's vocal chords easily; they couldn't conceive of a girl who wanted to tempt them that far, made them kind of short circuit. It was a delightful way to get control over them though and worked really well. She knew Ariana hadn't meant that so much, but it was the first thing to come to her mind. Amused, she turned her head upwards looking at the other the ball held in her hand for a moment. "I invited him to see my family home as a break during the summer; I've just managed to get it cleaned up some which was cool. We've been friends for a bit though."
She hesitated for a moment, wondering about how Ariana would take this. "He's always seemed the same to me. A bit distant, maybe even disconnected. We share a lot of the same views and we agreed this year....something is probably going to happen. But I'm fairly sure he's not gay either." She laughed and put the ball away in her pocket, moving her legs around to sit upright for once, not really interested in attracting boys at the moment as the conversation was becoming more interesting. "We were talking about what we were both hoping for in a future and he told me he wanted to keep his options open for a bit, wait on the getting married thing if his mother doesn't interfere." Mothers, she thought, were apparently really pushy about grandkids. Thank goodness Lin's was not her real one but a step one she could ignore. Not that she had ever meant anything to Lindsey.
"I remembered owing him for his birthday when I didn't get him anything. So when he actually acted silly for a moment, I took advantage of it and told him Happy Birthday and kissed him." Chuckling she remembered the moment and he had been very taken aback -- she had surprised the h*ll out of him and she liked that. It was always good to keep people on their toes. "He didn't resist much, not that I really expect guys to much and I think it might have been a first one for him. Still, I can tell he's not into me like that, but he is definitely interested in girls, just...distant." Having pulled her feet up on the couch with her under neath her skirt she looked Ariana in the eye and said "If someone pushed his boundaries, I think he might open up more. If you are interested."
Was Ariana interested in Blaise? Lindsey couldn't really read women half as well unfortunately, but she wouldn't mind seeing someone make him open up, make him connect with life more. Otherwise he was going to lock himself up somewhere and become turned inwards. No one should ever turn themselves off.
