OOC: Sorry for anyone I godmod, I swear I will do it as little as possible but in flashbacks its kind of hard not to Harry still couldn't believe that the twins and Ron had busted him free of Privet Drive. He had sworn he was never going back to Hogwarts after that incident with Dobby from the look on his Uncle's face. And yet here he was, at the Burrow, getting ready to eat breakfast with the family that was practically adopting him.
He couldn't stop looking around in awe as Ron led him through the house on a tour, as their previous tour had been cut short by Mrs. Weasley's yells. Harry found everything to be impressive and wonderful.
Finally it was time to eat.

Ginny had been calmly eating her breakfast when Harry and Ron arrived at the breakfast table. She reached for a spoon, still looking at Harry and with a start she realized that the loud clatter a moment later was her porridge bowl. She turned scarlet and dove under to table, both to retrieve it and to hide from the amused faces of Harry and the rest of her family. When she reappeared, only Harry pretended not to notice her mistake.
She found herself thinking about how sweet he was, how cute he was...her cheeks flushed again. The Hogwarts letters arrived moments later, and thankfully everyone's attention was diverted.

Harry looked away politely while the rest of the Weasley siblings laughed good-naturedly at Ginny's misfortune. He slid into his seat, which happened to be across from Ron and next to the still slightly scarlet Ginny. He smiled kindly at her which probably wasn't the best idea, seeing as how she had reacted upon just his presence, but luckily the owls with school letters arrived just then so if Ginny did anything else embarrassing, he wouldn't have noticed anyway.
Percy got up to get the letters as Errol had managed to fly right into the window which disoriented him and he was trying to deliver the letters to the flower vase instead of a person."Oh look, they've sent Harry's letter too" he observed, tossing it Harry's way. "Dumbledore must know you're here already."Harry, noticing that Ginny was holding one of the letters, smiled at her again. "Oh, are you going to Hogwarts this year too?"

Heat creeped up Ginny's face into the roots of her hair as she nodded. She reached for a spoon, still looking at Harry, and unceremoniously dropped her elbow into the butterdish. Fortunately, it appeared no one had noticed the slip.
(Skipping ahead to Diagon Ally?)

(its a plan) Harry figured that this might be a good time to stop talking to the poor girl so she could eat her breakfast and not wear it so he focused on his own food.
It was a few days later that Mrs. Weasley realized they had stalled long enough and had virtually no time left but the present to get all their various school supplies before the Hogwarts Express left the next day so she herded everyone into the living room and picked up the pot of floo powder.
Harry simply stared at it until Ron remembered that Harry was new to all this and hastened to remind his mother. She looked surprised that Harry had never traveled by floo powder before but nonetheless kindly began explaining how to do it. Which would have been fine...but everyone else began throwing in their own opinions as well, clouding the issue and confusing poor Harry who ended up in Knocturn Alley instead.
A very surprised Hagrid found him trying to get out of there relatively unscathed, and helped him to safety. They were conversing as they walked back towards normal civilization and Harry learned that Hagrid had been searching for flesh eating slug repellent to save the school's cabbages.
Before Harry could think of anything to say to this remark, Hermione was running towards them, beaming. Hagrid left Harry in good hands and wandered off while Hermione preceeded to fix Harry's glasses again and yank him by the arm through the crowded bookstore to meet everyone else in line.(the speed version of everything that happened lol)

Ginny was still trying to catch her breath as they entered the bookstore. Mum had been dragging her along for ages looking for Harry. Ginny was fairly certain from the beginning that everything would be fine, but Molly had been unwilling to listen to reason from her youngest child.
Ginny watched the scene as Gildroy Lockheart made a show of Harry that was just that, a show. She cringed at the uncomfortable look on Harry's face, and smiled when he was finally released and they were all able to leave. Outside, everyone was chatting happily, but went silent almost as quickly at a new voice.
"Betcha loved that didn't you Potter?" the unpleasant drawl of Draco Malfoy made them all cringe inwardly. "Famous Harry Potter", Malfoy continued, "can't even go into a book shop without making the front page."
To Ginny's surprise, her mouth seemed to open of its own volition. "Leave him alone!", she said scathingly. "He didn't want all that!"
"Potter, you got yourself a girlfriend!" Malfoy drawled. Ginny blushed darkly and her mouth closed with a snap.

Harry had barely had time to catch his own breath when he was being hauled up onto stage and given a very uncomfortable one armed hug by Lockhart, whose favorite past time seemed to be smiling.
Harry thought the awkwardness would be done when he was finally allowed to leave - though not without a free collection of Lockhart's books that he didn't want - but no, it got worse. Malfoy was blocking their path, sneering at him.
He opened his mouth to say something along the lines of "shut up malfoy" but someone else was speaking up at his elbow and he found, to his surprise, that it was Ginny. When she flushed and fell silent, Harry opened his mouth furiously a second time but was again spoken across by a louder drawl quiet similar to Malfoy's."Now, now Draco, play nicely..."

Ginny was on her way to the Gryffindor common room when she noticed a commotion up the hall a bit. All day long dwarfs had been all but holding students down to deliver what had been meant to be messages of love and adoration.
A dwarf was currently persisting at a student Ginny was too far away to see as she came closer, it became apparent the boy had dark hair, glasses, and...oh no! The dwarf was trying to give Harry his valentine now?!? Ginny had given specific instructions that he be alone. She sighed, and resisted the urge to bury her face. This wasn't going to end well, she just knew it.

"Oi, Potter!" Harry looked around. He, Ron, and Hermione, along with the majority of the other students were crowding along the corridors to various destinations. And there, fighting its way through the crowd was one of those stupid singing dwarfs, heading directly for him. Oh no. He immediately tightened the grip on his bag and began trying to get away but there were too many kids and the dwarf eventually caught up to him, looking grumpy. "I've got a valentine for you" he announced, rather obviously.
"Not here" Harry muttered, noticing how many slytherins, including Malfoy, were gathered.
The dwarf didn't appear to have heard. He cleared his throat so Harry tried to get away again and the annoyed dwarf tackled him before sitting on his ankles and proceeding to sing:
His eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad, His hair is as black as a blackboard. I think he's divineeeee, I wish he were mineeeee, The Hero who conquired the dark lord!
He finished, got off of Harry and left. Harry got to his feet, his face the color of Ron's hair beside him.

All hope wasn't lost, Ginny thought, at least Harry didn't know..."Oi! Weasley, it looks like Potter didn't like your Valentine much..." Ginny wanted cry, something she rarely did, she didn't even risk a glance at Harry before she dove into the nearest classroom.

Harry whipped his head around to see who Malfoy was talking to, though it was fairly obvious by the words he spoke, and was only able to see the whipping of Ginny's robes and hair as she fled. Now he felt bad for looking as mortified as he did. He scowled at Malfoy and then elbowed his way through the crowd of still giggling people to get out of there.

Ginny did not know where she was, how she'd gotten here. She was alive, but only just, floating in a sea of black. Where was Tom? Why wasn't he helping her. She'd seen him for only a moment before the blackness had overtaken her. She recognized she was laying on cold stone, but could neither open her eyes nor speak. Sound was fading, but she barely heard a voice, one she recognized but could not name, joining Tom's.
She grasped frantically at consciousness, afraid if she lost it, she would never find it again.

***All the nonsense with Riddle that I'm posting with shava now lol*** Harry stared dizzily down at the diary he had just stabbed and let the basilisk's fang drop from his hand as he leaned forward, clutching his poisoned arm and breathing deeply to keep the pain at bay. He knew he had very little time to live but at least he had gotten rid of Riddle and saved Ginny. Speaking of Ginny...he looked her way to make sure she was ok.

All at once, Ginny's mind was clearing, she risked sitting up, and though dizzy, managed to raise into a sitting position. She turned her head. Riddle was gone, and Fawkes was hovering over Harry in protective way. She wanted desperately to reach him, but hadn't the strength yet. She managed a smile, mouthed "thank you". She prayed to whatever powers there were that her life would not cost him his.

Harry smiled weakly at her. "Ginny, you need to get yourself out" he ordered. "Follow the chamber, you'll find Ron." He was going to say more but Fawkes was walking closer to him, blinking his wide colorful eyes at him sorrowfully. "You were brillant Fawkes" he whispered, feeling his strength beginning to leave completely. "I...I just wasn't...fast enough."
Fawkes, seeming to ignore Harry's words, began blinking his eyes rapidly and several large tears landed on the wound. And right before Harry's slowly becomming less fuzzy vision, the wound dissapeared. He stared. "Of course. Phoenix tears contain healing powers..." He looked back to Ginny, grinning broadly.
"It's all ok Ginny, it's over. It's just a memory."
