At Harry's comment of 'risk their lives', Ron couldn't help but give a small smile. "Never done that before, have we?" he asked nonchalantly. Though as Harry finally gave up and pulled out a few of his hairs, Ron couldn't help but feel a bit better. He personally didn't fancy getting one of his best friends all angry when they were supposed to be rescuing him. At this thought, Ron was about to give his own sigh of relief. However, it caught halfway between his throat and lungs when he felt a warm hand grasp his. He felt his ears suddenly get rather red.
There they were, going off into some other type of danger they weren't sure they'd get out of. He could tell her now, just three little words is the very least he could do. All these people, but then again all he had to do was say it. However, Hermione spoke up and Ron pushed the thoughts away. A nagging voice in his head was telling him not now.
"Well," said Fred in a cheery voice. "None of us really fancy it, mate." As if reading his mind (which was a thing they seemed to do uncannily often and was rather helpful in some case), George seemed to continue his thought. "Yeah, imagine if something went wrong and we were stuck as scrawny, specky gits forever," said George, grinning.
Tonks and Arthur both watched with distaste as all of the 'Harry's made faces as they drank the potion. People shrank and grew and it was all around a rather odd thing to watch. Ron, Fred, and George all shrank magnificently, their faces morphing and their eyesight becoming blurry. After a few moments they all looked the same, though with different clothing.
"Wow!" said Fred and George at the same time. "We're identical!"
Ron laughed in his own voice, which was something strange as everything around him seemed a bit taller. He looked at the blurry image of what he thought was Harry -- the real Harry, he could still tell by the vague colours of clothing. He stumbled, along with Fred and George, towards the luggage bag and they all started pulling out clothing and glasses. None of them really took much time to change -- they weren't exactly shy about it. Looking down at his -- or Harry's -- bare chest as he put on the glasses, he scoffed. "Knew Ginny was lying about that tattoo."
Arthur was looking at his watch nervously, still glancing out the window. Meanwhile, Tonks had pulled out her wand, more of a precaution and a force of habit than anything. Though no one could be sure that they wouldn't need it. Mad-Eye was right, Voldemort would be stupid not to send anyone. After they all dressed, Tonks looked at Mad-Eye, waiting for the all-clear. "Nearly ready?" she asked, her voice surprisingly steady.

Silently the Dark Lord stood on the roof of a house near the target and watched his followers arrive one by one. At this hour no one was looking skyward and the streetlights of the stupid muggles blinded them from seeing clearly anyway. Here on a roof above them his eyes had adjusted fine as he waited for the right moment, counting them until they had almost all arrived. Tonight they were going to see something to surprise them all and remind them why he was their leader and much to be respected.
And feared.
No one had seen him fly before this and his skill at it had grown over the months as he learned the tricks to it, unknown to any other of wizarding kind. Even the dolt Dumbledore had never stretched his hand to learn of these mighty powers and there were so many more he was still exploring, he who had gone far beyond any magic anyone else had ever conceived of! As Snape gave them their orders he closed his eyes and performed the complex spell with his wand and levitated slowly into the air a few feet until he finished. With eyes open with fiendish power he arose into the air as swift as any broom and surface in the exact center of the Death Eaters (dropping his concealment spell just before he was in their sights), drawing every single one's eyes as if he had risen up out of the ocean unexpectedly. It was clear there was no broom and a simple turn in a full circle showed each and everyone of them his total control as well as made his red eyes watching them. Identifying them despite their masks. Reminding them who was in charge of their very souls.
With their full attention, he motioned to Snape to prepare the assault and rose above his troops like a god on high watching to see how they did and who, like a sparrow, needed to be smited out of the sky....

Harry - the real Harry - stood by Moody and watched as his six dopplegangers began transforming. It had to be the oddest thing he had ever seen...and he had seen quite a few bizzare things in his life. He felt like telling the group at large to be a little more private as they stripped off, obviously a lot less shy when displaying his body instead of their own. Hermione commented on his eyesight and Ron commented on his tattoo-less chest but otherwise the cloning was virtually silent.
Lupin and Tonks had both mentioned that it was nearly time to go so Harry, with a glance at Moody to make sure there were no more instructions, went to the back hall where he picked up his rucksack and shouldered it, then grabbed his firebolt in one hand and Hedwig's cage in the other.
OOC: I'm mostly going to go with the book on the escape thing, but with Hedwig I'm going to go movie because I liked how she tried to save him
Once through the front door, he knelt and placed her cage on the ground, then opened it to allow her to fly free. "See you at the burrow" he whispered, giving her glossy white feathers a loving stroke. She hooted once, nuzzled his cheek and took off. Harry waited until he couldn't see her anymore and then turned to Hagrid, who was waiting by the motorbike. "Is this it? Sirius' bike?"
Hagrid beamed down at him. "This is it, 'arry. And the last time I rode it, I could carry you in the palm of me 'and."
Harry felt a little mortified at this statement and climbing into the sidecar added to it, as it placed him several feet below everyone else like a child. He crammed his broom and rucksack down by his feet and gripped the front of the sidecar for extra safety measures.
Lupin took Tonks' hands in his and gave her a lingering "stay safe" look before releasing his grip and marching with purpose over to George. "Ready?"

Snape, though he did blink in surprise, made no verbal comment as Lord Voldemort flew into their little circle without aide from a broom or thestral or anything else. He waited as their "master" made a full circle, looking at each death eater in turn with his glowing eyes before rising back into the air with a silent signal to Snape.
He nodded once and mounted his broom, kicking off hard. Two simple words and the thirty some odd death eaters began rising into the air as well, all in black cloaks with their masks on, ready for destruction. Two simple words. "Let's go."

When all seven Potters were standing before him dressed, bespectacled and luggage-laden Moody continued talking. "The pairs will be as follows: Mundungus will be travelling with me, by broom..." Mundungus cringed and grunted in question, "Why'm I with you?" Moody fixed his magical eye on Mundungus and growled, "Because you are the one that needs watching." After that Moody's magical eye never left Mundungus. "Arthur and Fred..." Moody was interrupted by one of the twins. "Enough messing around!" he snarled. "The other one - Fred or George or whoever you are- you're with Remus. Miss Delacour..."
Moody turned to Bill and nodded at his response before continuing, "Miss Granger with Kingsley by Thestral." Hermione was reassured that she would be riding with Kingsley on the Thestral, and gave him a smile. Moody narrowed his eyes and listened to the exchanges between Ron and Tanks; Harry and Hagrid. He cleared his throat and said, "We think the Death Eaters will expect you to be on broom. Snape's had plenty of time to tell them everything about you. So if we do run in any Death Eaters, we're betting they'll choose the Potter who look at home on a broomstick."
"Alright then," Moody busied himself with tying the sacks and then started leading the way to the back door. "Three minutes until we're supposed to leave. No point locking the door, that won't keep the Death Eaters out." All thirteen witches and wizards gathered in the dark back garden. By the time Harry joined them with his belonging Kingsley had already helped Hermione on the Thestral and Moody and Mundungus had mounted their brooms. Hermione searched wildly for Ron and she gave him a reassuring smile. She wanted to say something but Moody's next words silenced her. "Good luck everyone. See you all in an hour at the Burrow. On the count of three. One... two... three."
Hermione tightened her grip around Kingsley's waist and closed her eyes during the take off. Her wand was already clutched tightly in her hands. Moody cast one look at Mundungus and the two men simultaneously kicked from the ground. They flew higher and higher, and all of a sudden they were surrounded by Death Eaters. Moody cursed. He leaned forwards pushing his broom faster with Mundungus flying closely behind. Both men had their wands out and firing hexes at the Death Eaters. Moody spotted a figure soaring towards them without a broom. His magical eye darted in Mundungus's direction; he still hadn't noticed You-Know-Who and was holding onto his broom for dear life.

Stan Shunpike was constantly looking around him. He appeared to be both scared and excited by what was about to happen. Bellatrix glanced one look at him and made a face of disgust which was luckily concealed by her Death Eater mask. Selwyn exchanged a quiet word with the Carrow twins and then moved to the side. He was a strong wizard and did not enjoy engaging with his fellow Death Eaters. Selwyn was there to serve his master, and he believed that did not require creating any sort of relationship with the others.
Bellatrix was not happy to have to see Snape take the lead. She loathed him and believed it was an insult to her persona taking orders from him. Yet again, he had been chosen by the Dark Lord and what he said was law for Bellatrix. While they waited for the signal, Bella kept her eyes fixed on the Dark Lord. When he started rising from the roof without a broom, her jaw fell open and her eyes widened. When she had overcome her initial shock, she straightened her back and looked up at him with a proud expression.
Severus was given the signal and Bellatrix turned reluctantly to face him. Rodolphus gave her the thumbs up and said, "Have fun." Bellatrix laughed and replied maliciously, "I will." As Snape mounted the broom the Lestranges, Shunpike, Selwyn and the Carrows followed suit. The words were barely out of Snape's mouth when Bella kicked hard from the ground. She urged her broomstick forwards and allowed it to hover beside Snape, to show him and the others that he was not superior to her.
Within minutes the Death Eaters had surrounded Potter and his safe party. The only problem was that there were seven of them. She cursed loudly and fixed her gaze on Tonks. Bellatrix was determined to take that little witch out no matter what. She was one of the first to break the formation. Bella pulled out her wand and lunged straight at Tonks and her Potter. Rodolphus followed. Shunpike joined the Death Eaters following Hagrid while Selwyn went after Moody.

Bill and Fleur looked at each other, his expression was amused, hers horrified. "Do not look at me!" she screeched. "I am hideous!" Bill bit his lip to keep from laughing. Fleur shot him a look as she dug through the Harry-esque pile of clothes. Fleur gave the pile a disgusted stare, but stripped obediently and dressed again.
Her mood improved slightly when she was informed she'd be riding a thestral rather than a broom, behind Bill no less. They went outside and her fiance helped her onto the Thestral before mounting himself. "Everything will be okay, trust me." He gave her a wolfish Weasley grin and then turned to await further instruction.
Back at the burrow, Ginny Weasley was anything but calm. Both she and her mother had long ago given up going through the motions of wedding preparation. Both women were pacing, though Ginny was in her room and Molly stayed in the kitchen.
Ginny bit her lip what if...what if...what if. The gory possibilities were endless, and she silently begged whatever forces their were to keep her loved ones safe on this most dangerous of nights.

They clouds broke and all hell broke lose. Tonks cursed loudly, trying not to search for Remus and keep focused on the task at hand -- get to the safe spot first, then the Burrow. Tonks could feel Ron cringe against her, and rightfully so, because the sky was an array of curses at this point. Tonks gripped the broom with one hand, trying to steady herself as she attempted to aim a curse at a dark figured Death Eater. The curse barely missed it's target, but by that time Tonks had already realized that the person she was aiming at was none other than her "dear" Auntie. She could tell even through that god-awful mask.
Ron tightened his grip on Tonks' waist, his heart seemingly flying up into his throat. He searched desperately for a sign of Hermione, the real Harry, or just someone he knew was safe. However, he couldn't tell who was who in the dismay, not that he could see anyone.
It seemed like the Department of Mysteries all over again. How were they possibly going to get out of this one? With a lot of luck and thinking on your feet, he told himself. And with that thought, he immediately started sending curses towards the masked figures. He heard Tonks curse in front of him, flashes of different coloured spells lightly up the cloudy sky. Tonks turned back to keep an eye on Bellatrix, just for a moment, when Ron turned and yelled "Stupefy!"
The curse hit the Death Eater who had joined Bellatrix right in the chest, and he fell back off his broom, soaring towards the ground below. "Nice one!" yelled Tonks approvingly, turning back to try and veer off course from Bellatrix.
Fred could feel the curses soaring hot past him as he turned and fired curses back behind him. He heard a couple screams in the fray, although he couldn't make out whether it was Death Eater or Order. Between his firing of curses, he saw a dark cloud through everything that was happening. At least, it looked like a cloud from here. It grew nearer and Fred saw that it was very much a person, flying without the aid of broom or thestral or the like. "Dad, go!" Fred bellowed into his father's ear, making sure that he could hear him. He realized who it was now, who was flying through the air as though it was nothing.
George could hear Lupin yell something as he dove down, but George couldn't hear it past the wind and the various sounds of screams and curses. George felt a curse narrowly miss Lupin and turned, retaliating with a few Stunning Spells. He saw a couple Death Eaters wobble, leaning precariously on their brooms, but none of them fell.

As the motorbike roared to life like a baby dragon, Harry looked around at everyone risking their lives just for him and felt a sense of extreme love and fondness for each and every single one of them; even Mundungus, who he had tried to strangle the last time the pair had seen each other. Harry tried to rearrange the broom and rucksack beween his knees so that they would be less uncomfortable, since his legs were already starting to get that tingly feeling that meant they would soon be numb and they hadn't even left the ground yet.
Hagrid brought the motorbike even with the brooms and two thestrals and then they all began climbing higher and higher in the air as a group. Harry had barely remembered to turn around to give Privet Drive a fleeting last look when all of a sudden they were surrounded by at least thirty hooded figures and the dark night was suddenly ablaze with curses. Harry's stomach flipped over as he drew his wand and sent a stunner into the night at random. What was happening to the others? Were they ok? Panicking, he shouted above the noise to Hagrid, "Go back! Hagrid, we've got to go back!"
Hagrid shook his head furiously, picking up speed and blasting his way through a knot of three or four death eaters. "My job's ter get yeh there safety."
Four death eaters were on their trail now, others having all split up to target different pairs. Harry turned around in his seat as best he could, his wand raised defensively.
"Hang on 'Arry" Hagrid bellowed above the confusion and chaos, punching a button with one large finger. A solid brick wall errupted from the gas pipe behind them. Three were skilled enough on brooms to swerve and miss it completely but one went face first into it then toppled off his broom and plumeted towards earth. Hagrid, not deterred, pressed a second button, which shot out a mesh net. Unfortunately, the three pursuing death eaters were also ready for this and continued their chase, getting closer. "This will do it!" Hagrid slammed his whole fist into a third button and dragon flames burst from the motorbike, flinging them forward at such a speed that they gained a considerable gap between themselves and the pursuing death eaters. However, the force had spintered the connection between the motorbike and its sidecar.
Harry saw Hagrid reaching for his pink umbrella. "No, Hagrid, let me!" he begged, but it was too late. Hagrid had tried to use the reparo spell on it and it shattered completely. Harry's stomach dropped along with the car he was riding in. Desperately, he waved his wand at it. "Wingardeum Leviosa!" The tiny car began to rise again. It was unsteerable and very unstable but at least it was airborn.
Out of the darkness came Hagrid's voice. "I'm coming 'Arry!"
Lupin shouted "look out!" to George but it was too late. A severing charm, that was probably aimed for him, had gone straight for George's head. As Lupin was flying his broom skillfully and swiftly towards George to transfer him onto his own broom, the wind blew back his assailant's hood. Lupin stared at Snape for a moment then took off, supporting George to the best of his ability.
OOC: I could keep going with the Harry and Hagrid thing but I thought I'd give others a chance to post a bit more of their own attacks first and then go back to the harry and hagrid part xD

Tonks veered sharply to the left, Ron almost sliding clean off the broom. "Hold on!" bellowed Tonks, taking a hand off the broom to curse at a hooded Death Eater. They were now too far away to see any other Harrys or protectors, and Tonks could see (with a sinking sensation in her stomach), a dark cloud floating that seemed all too out of place. Dark robes, heading somewhere out of sight. She swerved right this time, ducking beneath a heavy cloud and dropping towards the ground quickly. After a few moments, Ron was already soaked to the bone, his hair sticking to his forehead and the broom becoming slippery. Tonks knew they missed the Portkey at this point and flew towards the Burrow.
Dark, then light. Dark, then light. Fuzzy, momentarily clear. George's vision kept swimming in and out, catching various glimpses of different coloured spells and the memory of a face he knew, his hood flying back to reveal dark eyes and black hair. White hot pain coursed through his skull, something hot and wet cascading down his head. He could feel it trickling down his neck as he blindly reached a hand to try and stifle the flow of what he knew was bloody. Vaguely aware of Lupin's presence, he mumbled something that was drown out by the wind and screams.
He felt the broom lowering as they lost altitude. From George's standpoint, he wasn't quite sure whether they were going to their safehouse to take the Portkey or about to crash. His feet stumbled slightly as they landed. A voice was shouting something at them, a scream and then "The Portkey, hurry!". His fingers touched the cool metal of a tin can, aided by Tonks' grandmother. There was more darkness, unaided by George's vision flickering in and out and a pulling sensation near his navel.

Despite his servants preparations and well won information, there was still a surprise waiting them as Potter's babysitters rose right into the mass of the Death Eater's trap. Instantly they scattered and the DE hesitated only a moment before the chase began, brooms scattering everywhere in chaos. Multiple groups. Even the Dark Lord had to admit this was a smart tactic to play even as it pissed him off. As his servants lay chase he focused on one auror in particular and swooped after them holding his wand out and aiming as he got closer. Two others were in front of him trying to hit Mad Eye Moody who was weaving like a demon in the air, using his special eye to keep an eye on attacks from behind even as Potter gripped him with a death grip.
In the air were screams and a masked Death Eater fell from the sky screaming, to be rescued by another lower down. Others darted around spells or dueled in mid air to protect themselves from the onslaught. Instead of having one person fending them off they had two off each pair which made an mid-air duel a tricky thing. Therefore, Voldemort chose to close in from above and get closer before he took his shot. As he got closer he aimed and shot his spell with no words and grinned in satisfaction as Malfoy's wand performed fine, if not as strong as his own special wand. His electric green death spell shot far and true zooming in on the auror's head with unerring accuracy.

Lupin supported the now unconscious George to their safehouse. Tonks' grandmother looked positively faint and hadn't the slightest idea how to fix George's cursed off ear. "Get him to Molly" was all she kept saying, knowing that Mrs. Weasley was also more than likely white with worry by this point. So Lupin, still supporting George and trying not to gag at the sight of so much blood, put a finger to the portkey just in time.
Harry felt himself being lifted out of the falling sidecar by the back of his sweatshirt and then he was plopped unceremoniously onto the back of the motorbike, given barely any room due to Hagrid's vast size.
"Harry, I'm so sorry" Hagrid practically sobbed. "Yeh've got no room-"
"It's not a problem, keep flying!!" Harry sent another few stunners into the night, not even paying attention to if they hit anyone or not. He was panicking. How had so many death eaters been ready for them? It was while he was thinking this that a hooded figure flew up beside them, aiming his wand in Harry's face. Since Harry was distracted, there was no way he would have been able to do anything if the death eater had managed to get off a spell. But they hadn't. A blur of glossy white feathers and an agry squaking sound announced the arrival of Hedwig, there to protect her owner and best friend.
The Death Eater being attacked fought back - naturally - and with a blast of all too familiar green light, Hedwig was falling towards earth like a plastic toy, frozen. "NO" Harry bleated, feeling first hot and then cold all over, refusing to believe she was dead. In the attack, the death eater had lost his hood and mask and Harry, even in his distressed state of mind, recognized it to be Stan Shunpike. His eyes were glassy and unfocused. "Expelliarmus" Harry shouted, without thinking. All he knew was that he wasn't going to stun or kill Stan, who was clearly under the imperius curse. But it was after this that Shunpike and two other death eaters accompanying him fell back, one of Shunpike's companions calling to the others "It's him! The real Potter!" Harry's heart lept into his throat.
Something was wrong. Why had the death eaters stopped chasing them? Two of them still had wands. Harry felt a knot in his stomach. One of them had seemed to recognize him. Why? What was going on? Had it been Hedwig? But lots of wizards must have snowy owls, right? It was eerily quiet.
Hagrid didn't seem to notice the sudden tension in the air. He was pleased. "We lost 'em Harry" he cheered. "And we're almost there. We're losing height, see?"
Harry looked below them warily. The buildings did appear to be getting closer to them now. But the nagging feeling that this wasn't over kept gnawing at him. And then suddenly, Voldemort was flying straight at them, his red slits for eyes locked on Harry.
Hagridgave a bellow of fear and steered the bike into a vertical dive.

As soon as he had delivered the killing stroke one he moved onto another, homing in on the next most likely one which was Kingsley, but he had barely started shoving curses at him as he caught up before he felt the dark mark signal. Immediately he peeled off and accelerated after the signal, catching up quickly to the bike and seeing a blast of flame which propelled it even faster.
A couple of death eaters aimed at Hagrid stunning spells and he nearly laughed as he saw one sideswipe the creature enough to knock him out, or maybe it was the bike that did it whatever. It was what he needed. Now able to catch up he sped forward. As the bike began to drop he pulled up beside it in the air and fired a curse at not Hagrid, but the boy hoping for a quick kill.

Hagrid let out a bellow of fear and steered the bike into a vertical dive.
Harry ducked to miss the killing curse, keeping one hand entwined in Hagrid's jacket so that he wouldn't slide off the tiny amount of seat he had to ride on.
Hagrid saw one of many surrounding death eaters pointing their wand at Harry and, apparently forgetting that he was in the air, jumped off the motorbike onto the broomstick with the death eater. The combined weight was too much for the broom, which snapped in half and sent both tumbling towards earth.
"Hagrid!" Harry shouted, fear making his body go numb. He ducked to avoid another curse, chipping his tooth on the handlebars of the bike. Spitting blood out of his mouth, he slammed one elbow into the dragon-fire button again, gripping the bike with his aching legs to keep from falling off.

A snarl came from Voldemort as his aim missed and was destroyed again byt the sudden actions from Potter breaking a broom, holding on for dear life from falling, and hitting the button again. As the bike flung itself forward Hagrid was knocked unconscious, his forehead smashing into the dashboard and the side car rattled loose. In the time it took Voldemort to catch up, the side car started to separate and peel off the bike as it nosed towards the ground.
Voldemort tried again, such a perfect target; Potter was barely hanging onto a crashing bike with his back to his enemy and no one near to help. You could almost taste the desperation running through his mind, see his death already happening from more then a dozen factors, but it would be the Dark Lord who took him, that was for sure!
As his curse leaped across the space between them he saw the impossible. Potter's wand hand turned around backwards where he couldn't even see and shot back a huge flame which Voldemort was sure no one else but himself knew. It was a desperate act to parry that blow which he had last used against Dumbledore and his eyes were wide when suddenly with slamming force he was trhust into the sky as the bike and it's raining debris passed safely into it's target area. His scream of anger could be heard for a thousand yards.
